Ernst Haas once said ‘There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.’
Be that as it may, a few must have camera accessories are imperative for any photographer who wants to take their photography to the next level!
In this post, I will list a few camera accessories that are in my opinion vital for a complete photography experience. Some accessories are essential for every photographer, while others are only handy for portrait photographers.
The List
- Tripod: a pivotal camera accessory for any photographer, period. A tripod helps you to stabilize the camera, free ups your hands to focus on composition, take long exposure photographs and much more. Some of my favorite tripods are:
- 5 in 1 Reflector: this one is an essential accessory for a portrait photographer. I can not think of a single shoot where I have not used my 5 in 1 reflector. You don’t need to buy an expensive reflector; just buy a cheapest one you can find. I recommend Sonia 42-inch / 107 cm 5 in 1 reflector.
- Camera Bag: cameras are expensive, lenses are even more expensive! So, to protect our beloved expensive camera gear, buying a camera bag is indispensable. Buying the camera bag can be a perplexing task. Hence, I am listing a few of my favorite camera bags:
- Wrist Strap: I hate neck straps; it hurts my neck and most importantly neck straps get in the way for run-and-gun situations. Having said that, cameras are heavy, and requires support for long shoots, hence a wrist strap. The wrist strap is small enough to never get in the way, and arguable provide better support. I only recommend Peak Design Cuff Camera Wrist Strap.
- External Flash/Speedlight: it is one of those things you won’t realize how useful it is unless you start using it. Mastering external flash can be extremely difficult, but once you master it, it will boost your photography to Super Saiyan levels. You can buy manual flash as low as 2 thousand rupees, but I would recommend buying a TTL flash as your first flash. Godox makes high quality and affordable flashes. If you have money and wants best of the best, buy Profoto. Some of my favorite external flashes are:
